Kevin Quan-Tuan Trinh is a multidisciplinary designer, accomplished photographer, and dedicated educator with expertise spanning Typography, Photography, Graphic Studio, Animation, Drawing, and Interface Design. With a career bridging academia and industry, Kevin brings over a decade of experience in design and advertising, combined with a PhD in Fine Arts, to create a lasting impact on his students and the creative community.
As a Senior Lecturer at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE, Kevin specialises in teaching design and visual communication, focusing on fostering practical skills and critical thinking. He has guided students in mastering key disciplines such as typography, digital photography, animation, and user interface design, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the evolving creative landscape. His student mentorship has led to numerous successes, including prestigious design competition wins and the recognition of student work on local (ADMAF, UAE) and international stages (Stieglitz Academy, Russia).
Kevin’s creative practice is deeply inspired by artists like Jeff Wall, Tarek Al-Ghoussein, and Gregory Crewdson. His work in staged photography and creative thinking is characterised by evocative storytelling and a distinctive ethereal perspective, exploring the intricate relationships between culture, identity, and creative expression.
Beyond the classroom, Kevin continues to make significant contributions to the design field through his own creative projects, exhibitions, and academic research. He is passionate about bridging the gap between education and industry, offering his students real-world insights and opportunities to thrive in competitive creative environments.
