This is the exhibition design concept by Maitha Al Falasi for the ADMAF Design Commission 2014. I supervised Maitha from initial concept to 3D modelling. Maitha managed to get runners up – a great effort considering commitments to class projects and time constraints. Well done Maitha.
The theme was to incorporate design elements of Zaha Hadid.
This was done through the use of formed MDF wood or laminated timber on the custom feature wall (500cm (d) x 300cm (h)).
The custom wall feature (refer to close up render) are like geographical landscape map like the ‘Galaxy Soho’ designed by Zaha Hadid Archiects. The sides will be routed (for cost purposes) and a thinner sheet will be placed on top to form the wave shape (refer to image01.jpg) and with a gloss laminate surface.
